Sturgis is the largest city in St. Joseph County.  It was the first town to welcome the first Michigan Southern Steam Locomotive in 1851.  Its Old New York Central Railroad Depot is listed on the State Historic Register.  Downtown Sturgis is home to a number of specialty shops including the Open Door Gallery.  The Sturges-Young Civic Center and Auditorium features performances and art programs. Our city pleases a variety of tastes.
